Lien vers la video

As part of a team-based audiovisual project, we created a mini-documentary dedicated to underwater hockey. The goal was to introduce a little-known sport through a documentary format combining real footage, visual immersion, and testimonials.

We chose to adopt an immersive approach by combining underwater shots and footage filmed at the municipal swimming pool in Hyères. This visual choice allows us to show both the practice of the sport and its environment, while giving the viewer a concrete understanding of this discipline.

The documentary includes two interviews, giving a voice to the participants and providing a human perspective on this sport. These testimonies enrich the narrative and provide additional information about the practice, the sensations, and the team spirit associated with underwater hockey.

The documentary's structure is based on a balance between action shots, interview segments, and observational sequences. The editing was designed to create a fluid rhythm, alternating between underwater immersion and spoken commentary, in order to make the narrative dynamic and accessible.

I personally edited the mini-documentary. I worked on selecting the images, sequencing the shots, setting the pace of the narrative, and integrating the interviews with the immersive footage. This work allowed me to structure a documentary narrative and give the project narrative coherence.

This project allowed me to develop skills in documentary filmmaking, video editing, and teamwork. It also gave me the opportunity to reflect on how to tell a real-life story through images, combining information, immersion, and audiovisual storytelling.
